APOD 4.2, a blue crescent moon from outer space

This picture was captured by astronauts at the international space station. This image is interesting because the moon appears blue.
It does this because it is seen through the Earths atmosphere. Higher up in the photograph, you can see the atmosphere thin and fade to black.
