Apod 4.4 Space station



This picture is taken from the window of the ISS. Visible in the image is the earth and a spaceship that was visiting to resupply the station. This spaceship carried three astronauts to the space station as well as supplies.

Apod 4.5 M81 in ursa major

M81 is one of the brightest objects in the night sky. It is similar in size to the milky way galaxy. M81 lies 11.8 million light years away from Ursa Major. This image reveals a bright yellow core.

apod 4.6 the sombero galaxy

This view of the sombrero galaxy is a composite view that spans the electromagnetic spectrum. One of these spectrums highlights the hot gas that spans some 60000 light years from the galaxies center. The view from the hubble gives us the bulge. The sombrero galaxy is 27 light years away near the southern edge of the virgo cluster.
